Top 10 Features in iOS 6.0

WWDC 20120 saw the rise of the new MacBook Air , MacBook Pro and an update to the iOS. Apple has announced over 200 changes to iOS 6.0, but you won’t care about every change Apple made. Here are the Top 10 you should actually care about.
1. Siri:
  • Siri can now launch apps
  • Siri can now Tweet 
  • Siri is smart about sports. It can pull in scores, game summaries and player stats.
  • Siri is also available in new languages.
  • Siri will get hands-free integration in lots of in-car systems.
  • Siri is coming to the new iPad.

2. FaceTime over Cellular:
As per the bug noticed in iOS 5.1.1 and the conclusion made; you can now use FaceTime over 3G and 4G cellular networks. Previously, FaceTime could be used only with WiFi.

3. Facebook Intergration:
After Twitter was integrated with iOS 5, Facebook got in with iOS 6.Users can login to their Facebook account in iOS 6 and have instant access to Facebook in apps, the web browser and Siri. The events, birthdays will automatically sync with your calendar app once you have linked your Facebook with your iOS. You can post and check-in directly from Maps

4. Maps:
Speculations were made; and it was known that Apple would kick Google Maps  out of its interface and introduce its own maps with lot more features.You can see streets, buildings and landmarks from air. Get voice and turn-by-turn directions.

5. Passbook:
Having trouble in managing your tickets, membership cards, boarding pass , coupons and loyalty cards? In iOS 6 you can have their QR code scanned and placed neatly one after the other. You can have your iPhone or iPod Touch remind you on your upcoming show and remind you about the expiry dates of the cards. You could board an aircraft and would notify you if your boarding a wrong plane.

6. Calls
If you cannot answer a call; you could either silence it or decline it. In iOS 6.0, you can text to the person immediately with the templates available or ask you iPhone to remind you to call you back

7. Do not disturb:
iOS 6 also introduces a feature that provides freedom from all the messages, alerts, texts and phone calls that bombs us during all hours of the day and night. It’s called Do Not Disturb. You still get all those messages and notifications, but your device won’t ring, or even light up and disturb you.

8.Eyes Free
 A new Siri button for Siri in-car integration with upcoming support for BMW, GM, Mercedes, Land Rover, Jaguar, Audi, Toyota, Chrysler and Honda. Now, you can talk to your phone even when your at the wheel

9. Improved Accessibility:
People with vision, hearing, learning, and mobility disabilities can now have a better inerface with iOS 6. Guided Access helps autistic students remain on task and focused on content. It allows a parent, teacher, or administrator to limit an iOS device to one app by disabling the Home button, as well as restrict touch input on certain areas of the screen. 

iOS 6 also introduces what Apple calls “smart app banners.”. When you visit the mobile version of a website that also has its own app in the App Store, a banner will appear across the top of the page. Click it to go directly to its page in the App Store. This would work exceptionally well for entrepreneurs and establishments.
